The first was a piece I created inspired by music:
Music is a big inspiration to me when I create. The sounds I hear create images in my head that I have to get out on paper. I really love how this came out.
And now onto the black and white sketches!
This was completed on 9-13-10. My character Lily.
Completed 9-14-10. Lily's partner, Tiger.
Competed 9-15-10. My character, Li, short for Billie. She's a character from a story I'm currently writing about.
Completed 9-20-10. This was just a random sketch of a hip hop dancer. Hip Hop dancing is another hobby of mine. I love to let the beats move me and was happy to let it inspire this sketch.
Completed 9-20-10. Completed the same day as the previous image. I was feeling it and just did a random sketch of someone fashionable.
Completed 9-21-10. I was starting to realize I don't do a lot of action shots. So I decided to play with Lily fending off an attacker. I think my favorite part of the sketch was the back 3/4 profile of the thug getting his. Something about the angle on his face just does it for this piece.
Completed 10-17-10. A visit to my past. While I was visiting my parents, I came across an old sketchbook of mine. In it was a character I created in high school, Sayoko. I decided to give my hand at her and see how much my art improve over 10 years later. Man, did I really improve. What I did back then was quite embarassing to say the least.
Completed 10-25-10. This was done after watching Resident Evil 3D. I don't care how bad it may have been. I love Milla! And I love zombies!
And finally, the best for last!
If there was any testiment to how much I have learned and grown as an artist. This would be it. Finally. A convincing background and a crowd of more than 2 characters in one image. This definitely shows how much I have improved last year and I am excited to see what the next year brings.
Alright! So there we have the art of 2010. What do you think?
Here's to the New Year!
